Experience Tourism: what is it?
The "Experience Tourism", or "Experiential Tourism", is a type of tourism studied by social sciences such as sociology and anthropology, which is defined as the moment in which the person lives satisfying and exciting situations, which leave in it a memory. It is a tourist typology characterized by the presence of various memorable moments.
These "experiences" or memorable moments are dimensioned as sensory, emotional and intellectual, and exist as a result of activities and events outside the person's daily routine.
What kind of activities are carried out in experience tourism?
Due to the fact that the objective of experience tourism is to satisfy the client's need to generate new and exciting experiences, the spectrum of activities that can be carried out in an experience is very wide.
However, an ideal type of place for experiential tourism can be any destination where the person can:
1. Interact directly with your environment: from music, to lighting, textures, aromas, etc.
2. Experience first-hand the culture of a city or region, through the representation of its customs and traditions, such as dance, theater or gastronomy.
